Separation Trauma & Anxiety Art Therapy
"Empowering young hearts with art: Nurturing resilience and self-expression in times of separation"
Service Description
In this art therapy session, children who are experiencing separation from a parent due to military service or incarceration will have the opportunity to express their emotions and experiences through creative means. Through the use of various art materials such as paint, clay, and drawing supplies, the children will be encouraged to explore their feelings of sadness, confusion, anger, and longing in a safe and supportive environment. The art therapist will guide the children in processing their emotions and experiences, helping them to develop coping strategies and resilience in the face of challenging circumstances. Through art therapy, children can externalize their inner struggles and find a sense of empowerment and control over their emotions. By creating art that reflects their unique experiences, children can gain insight into their own feelings and begin to navigate the complexities of parental separation. The art therapist will provide a non-judgmental space for the children to freely express themselves, fostering a sense of emotional healing and self-discovery. This session aims to support the children in building emotional resilience, fostering self-expression, and promoting a sense of well-being despite the challenges they may be facing. Before each session, every participant will receive an art kit via mail, ensuring they have all the necessary supplies for a fulfilling experience.
